정재동 퀸텟

정재동 퀸텟은 하드밥(Hard bop)사운드를 기반으로 연주하는 팀이다. 리더 정재동(색소폰)은 2021년 ‘The First Step’ 이라는 정규앨범을 발매했으며 앨범 수록곡 모두 그의 자작곡으로 이루어져있다. 또한 그는 2022년 재즈피플 올해의 라이징스타로 선정되며 다양한무대에서 연주활동을 이어나가고 있다. 이번 울산재즈페스티벌에서 그의 앨범수록곡들을 선보일 예정이다. 멤버는 밴드리더 정재동(색소폰), 홍태훈(트럼펫), 강재훈(피아노), 이동민(베이스), 박재준(드럼)이다.
Jaedong Jung Quintet is a modern jazz/hard-bop oriented jazz group that consists one of the most demanding musicians in South Korea. Jaedong, a leader of this quintet, released his very first and finest debut album called <The First Step> in 2021 and he wrote the whole compositions in it. The quintet is going to play tunes from his album at the 2023 Ulsan Jazz Festival.
